Male Portrait Sculpture Study (WIP)
A male portrait sculpture study focused on head structure, planes, and anatomy.
Sculpting Process
One of the hardest parts of this sculpture was the beard. Since it covered the jaw, it was harder to tell if the shape of the face looked right. I tried many different beard shapes and sizes, adding clay, taking it away, and changing it until it felt right. I really enjoyed having the freedom to experiment without worrying about getting it perfect on the first try.
